Today is a very, very special day on Your Virtual Assistant Coach.Today is our very first guest on the show, and I truly could not think of anyone better to bring on first than my very own daughter, little Miss, my five-year-old. She is, number one, the reason that I became a virtual assistant in the first place. None of this would exist if she didn't exist and number two, because she's the biggest fan of the podcast. She always wants to listen to the episodes. She asks me to replay them again. She thinks it is so fun, and so I thought that it would be incredibly fun for y'all to get to hear from her about what it's like to have her mommy working as a virtual assistant. So I'm going to let her introduce herself and tell you a little bit about her, and then we'll dive in with some questions. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Alright, can you tell me how old you are?

And how long, how much of your life has mommy been a virtual assistant, do you know?

Probably going to the pool when it's summertime.

Yeah, I do. I coach women, and do you know what it means that mommy is also a virtual assistant, like that I actually work with clients, do you have any idea what that means I do?

I do, I do work from home. And what's your favorite part about mommy working from home?

I sometimes get to be in the videos and watch her do it. It's really fun.

Uh-huh, and sometimes when she's at her office I make a little secret hideout and then just kind of sit there. Once I even ate my dinner there.

You did. You bought a whole hideout under my desk while I was working, huh. And then you ate dinner under there and then you wouldn't let me take it down for like two whole weeks I had a hideout under my desk. What do you not like about mommy working?

Little Miss: 3:29

I don't really know, I just like all of it.

You do like all of it. Do you think that mommy's job is fun or boring?

Little Miss: 3:39

Probably pretty boring.

Why do you think it's boring?

Because you just kind of gotta work and you don't really get to do anything fun.

Oh you've helped me do fun things for my work before. Do you remember when you helped me like package up gifts to send out to people and stuff?

No.

Oh, you don't remember that. You were like maybe three years old. You were a good helper. You helped me put everything in the envelopes and put the stamps on them.

What kinds of things do we get to do and have as a family because mommy is able to work and make money for our family?

Yeah, so we played. So we paid for our flight with my mom's money that she made for us.

So it's important, right? Because mommy can help support our family by working as a virtual assistant.

How does it make you feel on the days when you wake up in the morning and you're either sicky or you're just really, really tired and feel like you need a break and you don't want to go to school? How does it make you feel that you're able to stay home and come crawl in mommy's bed and watch a show and snuggle in the morning instead of having to go?

Little Miss: 5:21

Very happy.

It makes you happy. Why?

Little Miss: 5:25

Because I don't have to do all the stuff and I just get to relax. 

Laura Nicole: 5:28

Yeah, and is it nice that, even though mommy has to work, that when you're homesick, I can stay and snuggle with you in bed instead?

Little Miss: 5:38

That is really very, very, very nice.

Laura Nicole: 5:41

Okay, I want to talk to you about my business. Do you know what my business is?

Our mind blowed everybody. We were mind blown by that statistic. If you met a mommy right, If you met someone else's mommy who was really sad because she had no work all day and she really missed spending time with her kids, what would you say to her?

Um, maybe just to check online and see if she wants to sign up and pew. She can get as much time as she wants with her family

You mean if she became a virtual assistant?

If she just kind of looked online and if I told her to and ordered it and just kind of bought it and just got into the academy, you know, just kind of worked it out so that way she could spend as much time as she want with her family.

And still be able to make money to help support her family, right?

Right.

So do you think that what mommy does for work is important?

Yes

Why?

Little Miss: 8:11

Because it helps, you help other mommies and it also lets you make money without having to leave your family. But it doesn't really matter, because your family leaves you every single day.

What do you mean? Like daddy goes to work and you go to school

Yes

Right, but we're able to have control of our days, right? Like if you are sick, you can stay home?

Or if we want to go do something special or have family come visit, then mommy can just change her days whenever she needs to, right?

Okay, what is something that you think mommy is really good at?

Helping other mommies.

Why do you think I'm good at it?

Because you've been practicing?

Oh, I've been practicing, right. When we practice something really hard, we get better at it?

Oh, practice power. I like that. Do you think that practice power is a good thing for mommies who are becoming virtual assistants to have?

How is it going to help them?

Little Miss: 9:27

Because if you practice, it makes perfect. But not actually perfect, actually it does make it perfect, it makes it perfect, so that way the other mommies can just kind of work through it.

They can work through it and make it work and become a virtual assistant.

What is your superpower?

Little Miss: 9:50

Delicate earth power, delicate fire power, delicate ice power and delicate wind power.

So you have a lot of powers, is what I'm understanding.

But my most favorite power is delicate earth power.

What exactly does delicate earth power do?

Little Miss: 10:08

It is all of the powers.

Okay, so are you going to use those powers when you get older, or what do you think you're going to do and be when you get older?

I have no clue. A scientist.

You're going to be a scientist.

I also could be a princess that can turn into anything. Clueteen mermaids, like all of the magical things, and Clueteen unicorn. Everybody understands that right.

Okay, so we're either going to be a scientist basing everything in fact, or we're going to be a magical princess who can turn into anything, including unicorns. Did I get that right?

Little Miss: 10:52

No, it's also mermaids and unicorns, but everybody better understand that okay?

Got it. I think everyone understands that. Now, do you think you're gonna be a mommy when you get big?

Little Miss: 11:05

Yes, because I'm gonna have 15 children.

Okay, so mommy has been a virtual assistant right since you were a teeny, tiny little baby, so I know that you have no memory of when mommy used to go to work. But do you remember what mommy used to do for work before I became a virtual assistant? 

Little Miss: 11:54

Work at a restaurant.

You actually got to go eat lunch at the restaurant that I used to work at when we were on our trip, didn't you?

Was it funny to imagine mommy being there making people sandwiches?

Because I just don't really think restaurants really match your personality.

That's interesting. Did you know that when you were first born, mommy was actually a teacher? I was a college professor.

That's pretty crazy that you've never heard that before. You just thought I worked at restaurants?

Yeah, mommy was actually a teacher for about four years before you were born.

So think back to when you were like two years old, three years old.

Little Miss: 12:52

When I was three years old I was kind of a handful.

Okay, so think back to when you were like two and three years old and you used to take naps all day and you were home all day with me. Who was the person who always got to put you down for your naps?

Little Miss: 13:10

You, mommy.

Me. We got to do nap time and bedtime together every day, huh?

Little Miss: 13:16

Yes.

Laura Nicole: 13:18

That's pretty special that we got to be together to do those things, don't you think? 

Little Miss: 13:21

Yeah, and we still do them together.

Laura Nicole: 13:25

Yeah, we still do. We've done them together your whole life. But that doesn't get to happen for a lot of mommies. Do you know how special that is? It's very special that mommy was able to do my work from home and I could stop whenever and come do nap time with you. Did it make you happy that mommy gets to do your nap times and bed times with you?

Little Miss: 13:44

Yes, very happy.
